Oranges and fake IDs

“We’re eating oranges and making fake IDs” That particular line comes from the movie The Fugitive, and has become synonymous in my home with doing anything productive.
I’ve been productive in the last few days, with cleaning up my kitchen from top to bottom, knitting up a storm, sorting out some silly finance issues, and getting the pattern ready for my lovely little faux fur capelette!
I love being productive, mostly because I’m pretty darn lazy and aren’t productive all that often! So when I can manage to sort out so much stuff, I’m really happy. Especially when it’s been something I’ve been putting off. Talking to an accountant is always something I find really annoying. They are always trying to set you up with stuff you don’t need… what does a 24 year old student need with offshore financial service banking? They don’t that’s what, yet that’s what this accountant was trying to set us up with. Bah! On to better stuff!
I had an idea recently to make a bathmat that could actually go through the washer and dryer, and I finished that yesterday, too. I turned an old sheet into ’sharn’ – sheet yarn – then knit it up into a bathmat. Both my fiance and I are happy with it, as is our boy-cat who slept on it the instance it was done! It’s smaller than I would have liked, so I do have to knit up a larger one when I can get hold of more material that is appropriate… I’m thinking of towels for the next one!
Sticking together the pieces that form the pattern I’m using to make my little faux fur capelette is actually more annoying that I’d remembered. The pages are printed on a normal printer, then you sticky tape them together. Sounds easy enough, but it doesn’t match up properly, so I’ve got to sort of make it fit, and that is an annoying task!
Today’s pattern comes from my need as I said the other day to make a camera case. I’m going to felt one, but I don’t want it to be too boring to look at, so I’ve got to put something on it and then felt it… I’m thinking of including some chart or another, but that search lead me onto this little bag. I’m not going to use that chart, but I’ll definitely include something on the case!
