It feels extremely refreshing to be getting somewhere with at least one of my projects!
As I mentioned the other day, I often don’t get very far when I’m working on craft projects. Having to restart my neckwarmer for the third time is a perfect example of what I’m talking about here! So I cast on about five times, I’d say, to get this strawberry right, but I’m past working with the red and am up to the green part. I’m a round off stuffing, and then there’s a heck of a lot of icord, and then the leaf on the other end.
Something I like about these little patterns, is that you can just write it out yourself. I find this especially helpful because I’m a combination knitter and have to change certain things to get the same look. I’m fine with that, I don’t mind, so yeah, these short patterns are great for that!
I often find that I hate DPNs so very much, regardless of their being useful! They are too sharp, I hate aluminium and they are the only kind I have at the moment, they aren’t all the same size, and they make me feel like I’m trying to knit cotton thread with those giant foam hands you get at Baseball matches in the U.S.
Blech! Anyway, as an ode to my craftiness at the moment, I think today’s knitting pattern has to have good cross-over, by which I mean be useful to both sewing and knitting! Something that I often find frustrating, is keeping my pins in a cute little tin, which is good most of the time, but sometimes you want a place to keep special needles or whatnot, but I don’t have a place like that, save the lid of that same tin, which is alright but you forget about it and then can’t close the damn lid. Anyway, today’s pattern is a pin holder, a Tofu pin cushion!
