It’s past time I did another theme post, so here’s a new one, on elephants!

I personally love elephants, and I’m not alone in this. My family crest has three elephants on it, which I think is pretty damn awesome. There aren’t as many elephant themed patterns on Ravelry as I would have thought, but the ones that stood out will go here!

First up, toys. The majority of elephant patterns are for toys. I think the most adorable elephant pattern is the Elefante. Seriously, this is the most adorable little toy ever. I’ve got to make some of these! For a more realistic elephant pattern you can’t go past Noha’s Ark, which actually includes the patterns for the Elephant, as well as a Lion, Giraffe, Zebra, Camel, Tiger, Monkey, Crocodile, and an Ark! The link to the pattern is actually listed in the comments, as it must have been moved on the site where it resides. The last pattern I’m going to link to is quite amusing. It’s a cat toy, and I think cats would quite enjoy playing with this Elephant Kitty Stuffie, though the toy itself is a little odd looking.

Next, clothing! Here’s a pretty cute Elephant Hat – Child Size, which I think would be nicer in different colours, and would look cute on a child, and then there’s the adult sized Elephant Tam which is really nice.

As I said, there’s not a whole lot of elephant patterns going on on Ravelry, but those are the stand outs. I did happen to notice a few cute elephant emoticons on Deviant Art so I’ll put a few of them up on here.

There you go! I love that these creatures are so majestic, so beautiful and graceful. Did you know that an elephant was once seen swimming 2 miles off the coast of Africa? Yeah, they do love a good swim! That’s all for now!

Due to my last post, and it being a while since there’s been one, here’s a Theme Post about jewellery!

Alright so not all of these are in any way serious designs, or designs I would wear out of the house, but they are cute and fun so lets have a look anyway!

First up, necklaces! I like leaves so here’s Berocco’s Strozzi, which is a leaf lariat. Depending on the yarn, that could actually be a nice, outside the house, kind of thing. Here’s another leaf inspired necklace, also from Berocco, called Tornabuoni. Another, completely different necklace, called Indian Gold, could be really very interesting, and the pattern is so versatile, it could be completely different with different yarns. Back to leavs, How does your garden grow? is an awesome pattern. I wouldn’t wear it, but you could use much of it to adorn any felted bag or some such. Okay I just looked at the projects for that pattern, and they really are amazing!

Here’s the in-between necklaces, chokers! This lace one here, the Scallop Choker Necklace, is more of a collar, but is pretty anyway. The Chevette choker is pretty, and I like that it could be made up as a head band, too.

Now for some bracelets! I like the Button Bracelet mainly because of the pretty buttons, I’d use a finer yarn and needles for the pattern though, because I think it’s a bit bulky. The Knitted Bracelet is absurdly simple, but I think kind of cute! This is actually more how I envision knitted jewellery. Same with the Beaded I-Cord, I might even have to try this one myself! I really like the idea of it. Lastly, Purdita is a cuff, but a very pretty one, I must say!

To finish up, some rings. I like knitting that uses pretty buttons, I don’t know why, really, so here are two ring patterns that use buttons. Knitted ring with button, I know, what a nice change to see the name of a pattern actually reflect what it is! And another one called Knitted ring with button! What’s the chances, eh? Last one is a cute little double knit Valentine Heart Rings. I think this pattern is a good launching platform for other double knit motifs in rings.

Well there you have a bunch of knitting patterns, I hope you enjoyed this theme post!

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, so here’s another theme post… about toys!

Okay so I’m doing another of these theme posts, because they are so much fun. They are also a good excuse for me to spend a lot of time on Ravelry.

First up I’m looking at toys that look like food. This little popcorn is just adorable, and an interesting pattern too. This milk and cookie pattern is very reminiscent of many of the cute characters of Tokidoki . These floofy cupcakes are a lot of fun, a good way to use up odds and ends of yarn.

Next up we have toys that look like anthropomorphised stuff other than animals. Yeah that’s a complicated title that just means it’s not an animal but someone put a face on it. Stormy is the first of these patterns, and is about the cutest little angry cloud I could imagine! Weeeds is the cutest dandelion seeds I’ve ever seen, I love the Mochimochi Land patterns so much, their Grass is about the coolest thing ever, as well as Bob, which is an anthropomorphised version of a float from your toilet.

Now onto full on anthropomorphised animals! First up is this absolutely adorable, mind blowingly cute knitted Roly Poly Kitty. Next is a rather cute little bear named Henri, who sort of looks like a mole. Here is an adorable Bluebird, a pattern like to knit in brown to look like a sparrow! Now for an amphibian, a cute little frog called Mr Verde.

Now for some miscellaneous toy patterns… First up is a small Totoro, or a Chibi Totoro, who is adorable and from one of my favourite films. Next, something from a book… A Golden Snitch! How awesome is that! Now something that is a book, a book of knitting. This is an awesome project, something that would be so wonderful for babies.

There you have some awesome toys!
